Recruitment

What is a Guard?

We are looking for Event stewards

A security service is only as good as the people who implement it. And our people are the best in the business.

Expedient’s guarding and patrol business provides high-quality uniformed guards, mainly to blue-chip companies. Many of our guards have formerly worked in the armed services or the police. As well as being experienced, reliable and mature, they look smart and are trained to deal courteously and efficiently with visitors. They are well aware that their dealings with the public are part and parcel of the client’s image.

Our staff turnover is extremely low for the industry. That is because we recruit very carefully and treat the guards well once we employ them. Our vetting is done to the highest standards (BS7858) and we have our personnel files checked each year by the regulatory body, the Inspectorate of the Security Industry (ISI). Our recruitment is ‘operations led’ – the local operations manager himself conducts the final interviews, not a personnel department.

Most of our guards wear either wear a suit or blazers and gray flannel trousers, with a distinctive company tie and perhaps a security pin badge. We find that this helps us to recruit a smarter looking guard. Other uniforms are available on request, including ceremonial attire. We only choose people who will reflect well on the company they are guarding.

If, for any reason, a guard fails to arrive at his post, we have tried and tested back-up systems. Although we always have a roster of off-duty guards on call, we very rarely have to use them,as our staff are both dedicated and disciplined and do not let us down without warning. You can reach management at any hour of the day or night through our Duty Manager Program. It is our policy to follow up all queries and complaints within 24 hours and provide a written response. All this adds up to our total commitment to quality.

As a measure of our dedication, we have been inspected where ever there is a relevant formal standard. Our operational centers are all ISI inspected, and have passed BS7499. We are an approved training center for NVQs; and our control room is constructed to BS5979, the high security standard applied to burglar alarm monitoring stations.
